STEAM Ahead with LEGO(R) Education
"LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Essential is a cross-curricular STEAM program. SPIKE Essential engages students in hands-on investigation of STEAM concepts while contributing to literacy, math, and social-emotional development. Standards-aligned learning units use everyday themes, Minifigs (which the students love) with different personalities, and familiar LEGO® building elements to solve problems through storytelling."

Spanish Learning and Reading Enrichment
“Here are a few shots of the library for free choice reading in my Spanish class! Included in the library are “books” that were assembled using more of the grant materials and authored by the students themselves. Those are definitely the favorites and the first to get chosen to read! More books are getting ready to be assembled too!”
Wish Granted for the 7th and 8th Grade Spanish Classrooms at Norton Middle School!

Write-On, Wipe-Off Desks
"Students tend to find using whiteboards more fun and engaging than normal paper and pencil tasks, and I can keep an eye on multiple students at once because the writing is larger and darker. Whiteboards can also reduce math anxiety for students because mistakes can be so easily erased and fixed.
The desks offer a larger writing space than the individual whiteboards, which gives students even more space to solve problems. Students who have difficulty with math can leave an example problem written on the desk as a model while they solve the next problem. Students can even work together on the same desk, comparing answers and collaborating to improve learning, or easily move desks together to work in groups as these are lighter than the current tables in my classroom."
Wish Granted: 8 Desks for the Norton Middle School Learning Specialist Classroom!
